This
hole is a very strong Par-4 which meanders through some of the some of the tallest
trees on the course. The hole is what the architect terms a "reversal of
St. Andrews" - at St. Andrews, the player who risks the trouble on the right
is rewarded with a better second shot. On the 4th hole at Belgrade Lakes, a drive
to the left gives more visibility to the green, but one has to risk trouble in
the form of a nest of bunkers - "the Trio of Nasties" - down the left
hand side. There is quite a lot of room to the right, but it leaves a blind shot
with a medium iron.
